Save the Date!

We're celebrating 20 years of Chi Alpha at UVA! That's 20 years of Core Groups, 20 years of life-changing friendships, 20 years of Gospel-centered impact at UVA and across the world. We want to invite you to a special weekend of reconnecting with old friends and celebrating what God has done through Chi Alpha these past 20 years. We're also excited to dream with you about the future of Chi Alpha!

Alumni Events

Due to the forecasted rain, we have decided to change our alumni event plans. We will no longer be hosting a Humpback hike, but we hope that you will all join us for an open house at the Hub!

Saturday, May 7

  • Morning

    Hub Hangout (10am-1pm | 2000 Stadium Road)

    • Join us at the Hub for a fun morning of activities! We will have games, a bounce house, and face painting for everyone to enjoy! Light refreshments will be provided.

    Humpback Rock Hike – Cancelled due to rain

  • Lunch

    We thought it might be nice to eat with alumni that graduated around the same time, but feel free to go to either location at 1pm to meet up with alumni and staff!

    • Due to the rain, we have made the decision to gather all classes together for lunch at the Dairy Market (946 Grady Ave)

  • Free Time

    • Stop by the Hub
    • Walk the Lawn and Grounds
    • Grab coffee at Shenandoah Joe’s, Grit, or Mudhouse
    • Take a walk on Monticello Trails

Sunday, May 8

Sunday Morning Service (10am | Student Activities Building)

We are hosting a Sunday service to recreate the Monday Night Live experience as we reminisce and celebrate all that the Lord has done in the last 20 years! We would love for you to join us for this time of worship and fellowship together.


Keynote Speaker

Mark Batterson

Mark Batterson serves as lead pastor of National Community Church in Washington, DC. One church with multiple locations. NCC is focused on reaching emerging generations and meets in theaters throughout the DC metro area. NCC also owns and operates Ebenezers Coffeehouse, The Miracle Theatre, as well as the DC Dream Center. NCC is also redeveloping a city block located at the intersection of the Capitol Hill, Navy Yard, and Riverfront neighborhoods. The Capital Turnaround will be a mixed-use space, including event venue, child development center, marketplace, and co-working space. Mark holds a Doctor of Ministry degree from Regent University and is the New York Times best-selling author of 19 books.

Housing Options

We have secured various blocks of rooms at hotels in the area. Guests will need to ask for a room under the block for Chi Alpha 20 Year Celebration.

The Graduate

Rooms are available at the Graduate on the Corner for $299 a night. Use block name, Chi Alpha.

Childcare

On site childcare will be available for the Celebration Dinner. We are also working to secure current Chi Alpha student babysitters if you prefer for someone to go to your lodgings rather than utilizing group childcare at the Omni. Some sitters will also be available throughout the weekend. If you have indicated that you will be bringing your children with you, our Childcare Coordinator will be reaching out to you in the next few weeks.
