Anchors

In Chi Alpha, everything we do is guided by our three anchors: real devotional life, real community, and real responsibility. These anchors are our DNA, they are formed from the truth of Scripture and inform the culture of our fellowship.

Real Devotional Life

Having a vibrant and personal relationship with God is at the core of the Christian life. We believe that a consistent devotional life is a fundamental part of maintaining that personal relationship. By communicating with God through prayer and Scripture reading, we can thrive!

Real Community

Life was not meant to be lived alone. One of the greatest joys in life can be a fun and grace-filled community of fellow Christ followers. As a result, we consider our Core Groups to be the most critical part of Chi Alpha.

Real Responsibility

One of our most important beliefs is that what God has done in us, He wants to do through us. Every Christian has the responsibility to serve God in an outward way. Chi Alpha is therefore committed to providing students opportunities to serve in global missions, relational evangelism, and justice efforts.

The XA24

As a staff, we have collected the XA24 to help to etch out a clearer picture of what it means to live anchored. These sayings are not Scripture, but they are helpful truths that we need to be reminded of often as followers of Jesus.

  • Real Devotional Life

Remember who you were, who you are, and who He is.

Scripture builds us to be strong, steady and substantial.

Never let serving God replace knowing God.

Genuine love for Jesus means obedience to Jesus.

Reading Scripture doesn’t cause God to love you more, it causes you to love God more.

    Prayer is relational and consequential.

Our devotion goes beyond our emotion.

The Christian life is a Spirit-led life.

  • Real Community

Rejoice with those who rejoice, mourn with those who mourn.

    Vulnerability leads to intimacy.

We must love truth and truly love.

When forgiveness is extended, someone must absorb the wound.

Always ask, “What difference does the Gospel make here?”

Carefronting is caring more about their future than their feelings.

A healthy heart is a grateful heart.

    Choose trust over suspicion.

  • Real Responsibility

What God does in you, He wants to do through you.

A disciple makes disciples who make disciples.

We don’t just go for God, we go with God.

Every student goes, every student prays, every student gives, every student welcomes.

    Invest and Invite.

Never miss an opportunity to pray for someone.

    Jesus early, Jesus often.

You make a living by what you earn. You make a life by what you give.
